Spraypainting a Chair / Fabric Restoration
This is a cheaper alternative to reupholstery. In this case, I used Dupli-Color High Performance Vinyl and Fabric paint, generally used for car seats (so you know it'll withstand lots of use). Another similar product is SimplySpray.
For this particular chair, we used 4 cans of paint. This does not include the cans we will need to do a light second coat and the back of the chair (I estimate another 2-3 cans will do both).
Note: Because of the fabric of my chair, the paint made it feel a bit rougher. I was able to use a toothbrush or similarly-bristled brush though to 'soften' it up a bit. You should always test the spray on a similar piece of fabric or on a hidden area beforehand to see how it will turn out as all fabric is different. As I said, this is a CHEAPER ALTERNATIVE, so it will not be near as good as actual reupholstering.
