New WeChat Features - Statuses and Better Emojis
The newest version of WeChat offers a couple of new features:
Emojis have been upgraded to support high-clarity animations.
Users can set their “status”. For example, you could set your status to “depressed”, along with a short video, image or text. Then, you can see other friends of yours that are also depressed at the same time.
“Beans” are a new kind of points/currency that can be used within WeChat to reward livestreamers.
These updates are live on WeChat 8.X, which is available on iOS but doesn’t work very well on Android yet (based on our test).
