What we're going to talk about is how to import your pictures into right directly into Lightroom. Whenever you come back from a session, this is the first thing you want to do never wait one or two days. The longer you leave something on a card, the better chance you have of something going corrupt. You don't want to go tell your customer that you lost their pictures, so import this immediately after the session.

So you're going to connect your camera to your computer.

And after you do that you're going to come to Lightroom and you're going to click import.

Do you see how I'm all these photos are checkmark? Anything that checkmark is what is going to import into Lightroom. If you have something on your card that shot two weeks ago and you do not need to import it, be sure to uncheck it. I've accidentally did it a few times myself and it just get your Lightroom catalog a little messier than you want to see it.

So I do want to import all of these photos and I'm going to make sure they are all checked marked. Next scroll down because you just want to double-check and make sure they are all there.

The next thing you want to check is your filing system. Go to the right hand side. This is where your raw files are stored. I separate those by date because if I have to go back and pull something I can find it.

I made a folder with the date and select it. Next, I will click import.

The photo are now importing and will appear in about 5 to 7 minutes. They will take a few minutes to convert to a DNG and you will have them in lightroom.
