How to disable SIP ALG on PLDT Home Fibr Huawei routers
Ano tong SIP-ALG? Pwedi ba itong ma disable? Bakit kailan itong i-disable?
SIP - Session Initiation Protocol, VoIP applications like FB messenger, ZOOM, WhatsApp, at iba pa ay gumagamit ng SIP. SIP is a simple way to start and end an online conversation.
ALG - Application Layer Gateway, ito yung sumusuri ng VoIP traffic para maiwasan ang problema na pweding idulot ng Firewalls. If necessary it rewrites the VoIP packets to improve connectivity, tulad na lamang ng pag bago ng IP address sa VoIP packets. However, by doing so, it did not help but creates a problem. Like drop calls, voicemail redirect, no audio, at iba pa.
Therefore, it is recommended to disable SIP-ALG in ISP routers or replace the ISP router with a more powerful router.
Fortunately sa PLDT Huawei users, you can disable the SIP - ALG which itinuturo din sa video na ito kung paano. Sadly, hindi ito available sa PLDT Fiberhome users.
