HMAS Onslow is an Oberon Class submarine and has served in the Royal Navy of Australia. It is currently a museum ship and is part of the Australian National Maritime Museum in Sydney.

••• Oberon Class of Submarines •••
The Oberon Class is a class of 27 British diesel-electric submarines built on the Porpoise Class. Most of the Oberon Class was dedicated to its home country, while the remaining units were sold to Canada, Australia, Brazil and Chile.
13 units for the United Kingdom.
6 units to Canada.
3 units to Australia.
3 units for Brazil (Brazilian Navy).
2 units for Chile.
The Brazilian submarines were:
S Humaitá (S-20), S Tonelero (S-21) and S Riachuelo (S-22).

It was built in the United Kingdom by a Scottish company (Scotland is one of 4 countries in the United Kingdom).

Diesel engines: 2 Admiralty Standard Range V16 Supercharged engines.
The 2 diesel engines serve two tasks: Move the submarine while it is emerged and charge the batteries of the electric motors.
Electric motors: 2 English Electric motors.
The 2 electric motors are responsible for moving the submarine while it is submerged.

12 knots (22 km / h; 14 mph) surfaced
17 knots (31 km / h; 20 mph) submerged
11 knots (20 km / h; 13 mph) at snorkel depth

60 sailors and 8 officers.
This number may vary up or down according to each navy. The Brazilian Navy, for example, had a crew of 67 sailors and 7 officers in the S Humaitá (S20).

HMAS Onslow can carry a mix of up to 20 units of combined torpedoes or missiles.
Main armament:
Mark 48 (anti-submarine and anti-ship torpedo).
UGM-84 Sub Harpoon (anti-ship missile).
8 launch tubes, of which:
6 tubes at bow (front)
2 stern tubes (rear) that were later deactivated.
