We continue our investigation into the high-profile case of Kuandyk Bishimbayev, the former Minister of National Economy of Kazakhstan, who beat his wife, Saltanat Nukenova, to death.

Saltanat Nukenova's brother, who was largely responsible for organizing the public campaign that ultimately made this case so high-profile, is a victim in the case. The Nukenov family is directly involved in the trial; Aitbek Amangeldy, the brother, sits in the center, surrounded by lawyers, seemingly acting in that role. His parents sit behind him.
Bishimbayev's mother is present at the trial on behalf of the accused.
