The latest EASY LINK head unit update for the RENAULT ARKANA in September resulted in the unit failing and becoming unusable. The trouble-free update ended in a complete fiasco. Now, a visit to the dealer is required to restore the head unit's functionality. Head units are typically updated using FOTA (over-the-air) technology. A smartphone connection is not required. The head unit utilizes its own cellular connectivity. But this time, something went wrong. It's quite possible that RENAULT's programmers released a flawed update. But that doesn't make things any easier for RENAULT ARKANA owners. The vehicle's equipment is no longer usable, requiring an unscheduled visit to the dealer for repairs.
