I challenged myself on what makes me different to other business coaches and mentors within the mental health and allied health space and came up with the following:
The fact that I still own - not one - but two group private practices myself. This means that I still have real skin in the game myself. This means that I know – first-hand – the struggles that my practice owner clients go through. Yes, I could probably be aware of it without owning a practice through what they tell me is happening for them, but let’s be honest here… There is nothing more real than having your own practice at risk, your own money at risk, your own time at risk and your own energy at risk, because of still owing your own group private practice. THAT my friends are having REAL skin in the game.
PS: If you are a group practice owner, I would also challenge you to reflect on what makes your practice unique, in other words, what differentiates your practice from other practices in the market. In a growing marketplace with more and more people going into private practice, this is becoming increasingly important to do and to actively use the outcomes of this reflection in your marketing and branding.
