Building a Life OFF-GRID & ALONE | Planting for the Future
This week I planted more trees and shrubs for the food forest I’m slowly building on my 40 acres of off-grid high desert land! I’m still living full-time in my DIY van with Akela, doing all of this on my own — but this life doesn’t feel lonely. A few friends made the long trip to visit, and one brought me the most thoughtful gift: an Arkansas Black apple tree that will live on for years to come.
Between building a windbreak, adding diversity for wildlife, and trying to beat the clock on planting season, it’s been a full and beautiful week on the land.
