Destiny 2 Lore - How are cloud striders created? (A lot of pain...)
Destiny 2's Lore and Story in Lightfall tells us about how Cloudstriders are made. These heroes of Neomuna are not chosen by the Traveller's ghosts but are instead trained and then augmented extensively with nanites. The process involves a machine called the Sidereal and is painful and arduous. Even after its completion, a Cloudstrider can only serve for 10 years before they die.
