VO: Like the previous video we’ll start with how to zoom the tracks horizontally. Simply move the mouse cursor in between two tracks, click and hold and drag up or down. To zoom all tracks, hold down the Alt key.

To zoom in on a selection we’ll be using the Zoomer tool this time instead of keyboard shortcuts.
Select the tool and lasso drag across the selection you want to zoom in on. Keep selecting to zoom in further,
To zoom out, simply press the alt key and then click in the background with the Zoomer tool.

You can also set the Zoomer tool to single click mode. This means that it will switch back to the previously selected tool once you have used it.

An additional way of quickly move between zoom levels is to use the 5 zoom memories, located on the upper left side of the toolbar.

These memories are populated by default but you can store your own by command clicking on one of the numbers. You’ll see the number blinking rapidly to confirm that the zoom level has been stored.

While it might seem tempting to stick to the mouse when using Pro Tools, once you’ve mastered all of the keyboard shortcuts for editing and navigation you’ll probably realise how much faster it is to work this way, and why music & post professional alike use the mouse as little as possible.
