Rich People Are Getting Prepared For Something HUGE And It’s SCARY
Across the country, people are spending serious money preparing for scenarios most of us hope will never actually happen. But recently, CNN went inside one of the most extreme examples yet—a luxury survival complex hidden inside a former nuclear missile silo in Kansas.
And what’s inside doesn’t look like the bunker most people imagine.
The underground complex stretches 15 stories below ground and includes private residences, backup power, sophisticated air-filtration systems, security cameras and recreational areas designed to allow residents to remain underground during a major emergency. Some residences reportedly cost up to $5 million, and the developer told CNN that some owners are billionaires.
But the bunker itself might not be the most interesting part of this story.
It’s why people are buying them.
CNN’s recent The End of the World as We Know It report explored a growing culture of Americans preparing for everything from natural disasters and infrastructure failures to war and other catastrophic scenarios.
That doesn’t mean wealthy people secretly know a disaster is coming. There is no evidence that these bunkers prove an imminent catastrophic event.
But it does raise an interesting question:
Why are some people willing to spend millions of dollars preparing for possibilities most of us rarely think about?
