How Sugarcane is planted
Over the years, many people have asked us, "Why is sugarcane planted horizontally?" Our friend Ruben Rifa is here to explain more.
We grow sugarcane by planting the actual sugarcane stalk. This is called "vegetative propagation." The stalks are then placed horizontally so that multiple "eyes" come in contact with the soil to access available water & nutrients.It then takes the plant 12-15 months to grow to maturity. #QuestionOfTheWeek #DidYouKnow #USSugar
