Communication—from the Latin "communicatio" meaning message, transmission, and from "communicare"—to share, converse, connect, communicate, or transmit—is a scientific discipline that studies the (social) process of "communication/interaction," understood as the fundamental basis for all processes in human and social life, as well as the process itself and its results.
