Learn how to export Shopify data to Google Sheets automatically — products, orders,
customers and inventory — with a sheet that keeps itself up to date. This full tutorial
covers how to sync Shopify with Google Sheets from scratch, with no CSV downloads and no
manual exports.
I build a One-Way Export step by step, show three ways to refresh it (including from
inside the spreadsheet itself), set up an orders export that surfaces new orders as they
come in, and cover ShopifyQL for when you need a report instead of a raw list.

❓ COMMON QUESTIONS, ANSWERED
How do you export Shopify data to Google Sheets?
Install eCommix from the Shopify App Store, create a One-Way Export sync, pick a template
(Products, Orders, Customers, Inventory), choose your columns and filters, and connect a
Google account. The spreadsheet is created automatically on the first sync and refreshes
on the schedule you set.
Can Google Sheets update automatically from Shopify?
Yes. Set a refresh schedule in minutes, hours, daily or weekly and the sheet re-exports on
its own. Automatic Refresh requires the Bronze plan or above; intervals shorter than one
hour require Gold.
Can I edit the spreadsheet and send changes back to Shopify?
Not with One-Way Export — it's read-only from Shopify's side, and your edits to synced
columns are overwritten on the next sync. Two-Way Sync is the mode that pushes spreadsheet
changes back to your store.
Does this work for orders?
Yes. Orders are exported on a schedule, not in real time. Set Orders Sort and your
timezone in Settings before the first sync so new orders land where you expect and
timestamps match Shopify's.
Do I need to leave Shopify to refresh the data?
No. The eCommix Google Sheets add-on (Extensions → eCommix → Launch) lets you run the
export from inside the spreadsheet.
📌 KEY POINTS
• One-Way Export = Shopify writes to your sheet. Keep your own notes in a separate tab.
• Set timezone and orders sort in Settings BEFORE the first sync.
• Always hit Preview before saving — it pulls real data from your store.
• Filter aggressively; every row you don't export is time you don't wait.
• Sync direction is locked after creation. Use Duplicate to make variations.
💡 PLAN REQUIREMENTS
Automatic Refresh — Bronze and above
ShopifyQL and Real-Time — Silver and above
Refresh more often than hourly — Gold
