Asheville is a pretty cool city. We were surprised with the amount of restaurants, bars, and people on the streets having a good time. If you are planning a trip there, do not miss the chance to stop by and try a place called Noble Cider. Before the cider “renaissance”, the owner Lief was already producing great, thirst quenching ciders and experimenting with all kinds of cool ingredients. One of the ingredients Lief enjoys working with is honey, and as a curious brewer, he started to produce meads. We had the opportunity to try both his traditional meads in bottles and his fresh meads of tap, and we couldn’t recommend them enough! What we think is extra cool is that he has experimented with many different varietals of Bee Seasonal honey!
An interesting thing we learned from him is that he is part of a movement in North Carolina to bring back old heirloom cider apple varietals to orchards in the region. Lief has helped farmers understand the economical potential of growing different varietals of apples particularly for cider making. How cool is that?! You can find Noble Cider’s products at their locations in Asheville, major grocery stores across the southeast, and online! Cheers! 🍎🍯🍏🥂
