PENN Defiance 30 Redfish fight test (9-26-15)
Fighting the last of 3 Bull Redfish we caught this day near Mayport Florida. For anyone that thinks the PENN Defiance 30 can't handle heavy fish, this Redfish went about 20-25lbs and the rod and reel executed it's duties flawlessly. I was using SPECTRA "Power Pro" 50lb braid with about 3 feet of 60lb mono leader, a 75lb swivel, two 3 oz. sinkers, and a 7.0 circle hook rigged to a whole dead blue crab. He was the smallest of the three we caught that day but fought harder than the other two larger ones. The Defiance 30 is a very good rod and reel for the price. I highly recommend it!
