Hypertext: An Educational Experiment in English and Computer Science at Brown University
In the early 1970s, two Brown University professors created a novel computer-based poetry course. In the process, they created what may have been the first ever online scholarly community. A documentary film about the project, made in 1976 and recently screened by the National Endowment for the Humanities, describes the project's remarkable prescience.
