"New Character Demo: - Yanfei: Legal Expertise" |    • New Character Demo - "Yanfei: Legal Expert...

Hello to the 2 people watching this...

I feel like 4-star characters almost always get the short end of the stick when it comes to design, story, and abilities. Not that they're bad, it just feels like MiHoYo tries to give all the attention to 5-stars because it's a gacha game. Have you ever noticed how 5-star characters have really neat visual effects, camera angles and animation during their Elemental Burst (not including Aether and Lumine)? With the exception of Barbara, 4-star characters just don't get that treatment for their abilities. Fortunately, we get a glimpse of what they'd look like with those same effects in "New Character Demos" from the Genshin Impact YouTube channel.

Some people have already put together videos of other 4-stars with these effects added, and it looks amazing! So I wanted to create my own for Yanfei. Unfortunately, I had to record it in her Test Run since I don't have her yet (I got C1 Zhongli and C6 Diona instead, not complaining).

This was quite painful to create... First, there was the editing. I've really stretched the limits of what Windows Video Editor can do. I even had to use Audacity to create audio to go over top of it, while trying my best to make the added audio merge correctly with the audio from the footage... If it doesn't sound quite right, that's why. Also, I couldn't add an HP bar or UID in the corner to the added footage to make it look realistic, unfortunately... Second was the exporting. I had to export it 4 times before it came out right! The first 3 times the video froze in the middle, and I'm lucky my latest Windows update fixed it.

I wanted to create one for Rosaria, but I didn't get her and adding her burst animation from the demo which was filmed in Starglow Cavern would've looked wrong. Yanfei's animation didn't show the environment, so it could fit anywhere.
