This math tutorial video shows you how to solve an interesting exponential equation. Firstly, the equation is changed to a cubic polynomial equation by substitution and the exponent rules. Secondly, a linear factor is found by means of integer zero theorem. Thirdly, long division is applied to find the other factor of the cubic equation. Finally the quadratic formula and discriminant is applied to determine whether the quadratic factor has any real solution (root) or not.
