ContentProvider: Using URI's to identify content
The Universal Resource Identifier (URI) is a key component of the ContentProvider and is used to identify content in your application. This familiar mechanism allows you to indicate which content is the target of a specific operation, whether you are adding new content, updating or deleting existing content or getting content you wish to display.
