What does 1 hour of labor actually buy you in Australia? 🇦🇺

With the cost of living rising globally, I took a $25 budget (roughly the Australian minimum hourly wage) to do a grocery haul at Aldi.
Then, I checked the exact same 5 items at Coles to see the price difference.

The final receipts came out to $21.45 at Aldi vs. $24.70 at Coles. Seeing this gap for just 5 everyday items of the exact same weight and matching quality, is it actually worth hunting for the cheapest price market to market, or is the difference not worth the hassle? What do you think?

PS. This video is NOT sponsored. All products were purchased with my own money, and the prices reflect the retail costs on 24.05.26 at Aldi & Coles Melbourne CBD stores. This is an independent and organic price comparison. Please note that prices and promotions in supermarket chains change frequently and may vary by location.

CORRECTION: It was pointed out that Coles offers a 90c pasta alternative. My comparison used the $1.00 Coles option available on that day. Adjusting for this, the Coles total would be $24.60 instead of $24.70.
