Originally invented in 1946 by the Martin-Baker Aircraft Company, they fired one of their employees by strapping him to the seat and launching him out of aeroplanes at high altitudes! He survived, as have thousands of other pilots subsequently. We then achieve the impossible and, letting life imitate art, re-create Dutch artist MC Escher's endless staircase - in our studio. There's also some mouth watering tips on how to avoid tears when you're chopping an onion, baking ice-cream without it melting, and Violet steps straight through a postcard?!
