Don't Panic Over Low Oxygen Levels at Birth!
During the COVID-19 pandemic, many of us became highly aware of oxygen levels, and anything below 90% would immediately cause panic. But here's an important fact all new parents should know:
👉 When a baby is born, their oxygen levels are naturally low, usually around 50-60% at birth.
👉 It may take up to 10 minutes for the baby’s oxygen levels to gradually rise to a normal level of 90% or above.
👉 In fact, right after birth, babies can have oxygen saturation in the range of 25–70%, and this is considered completely normal during the initial adjustment phase outside the womb.
So, don’t panic if you see lower oxygen levels right after delivery, it’s part of nature’s process! Always trust your doctor and medical team for guidance. 💙
