STORY: Using the opera less as canon and more like a springboard, in this version, Turandot is secretly plotting against her father the Emperor, and the young lord helps her. Cue all the glorious palace intrigue.
I started this way back in february, in the depths of my Turandot/Nessun Dorma obsession, and it's been kinda stuck in editing hell since so I wanted to just finish it and get it over with. This is probably the messiest trailer i've made so fare and i'm not entirely delighted with it :/ but at least the premiere file won't be glaring at me from my desktop anymore.
but also,,, this is 100% a tribute to The Rise of Phoenixes (where basically 95% of these clips are from) -- it's such a good show, and if you're looking for angst, palace intrigue, really intelligent writing and super smart protagonists that are down to get dirty, please watch it. So good. It's available on Netflix.
