Course focus is on switching technologies and router operations that support small-to-medium business networks, including wireless local area networks (WLAN) and security concepts. You will perform basic network configuration and troubleshooting, identify and mitigate LAN security threats, and configure and secure a basic WLAN.
Work with routers, switches and wireless devices to configure and troubleshoot VLANs, Wireless LANs and Inter-VLAN routing.
Configure and troubleshoot redundancy on a switched network using STP and EtherChannel.
Develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills using real equipment and Cisco Packet Tracer.
Explain how to support available and reliable networks using dynamic addressing and first-hop redundancy protocols.

In this video we continue on from our Basic Configuration video and add SSH to secure our remote access to R1.
We first demonstrate why telnet in not a good option for remote access by inserting a Packet Sniffer into the network, and view the contents of the Telnet frames.
We return to the sniffer to look at the contents of the SSH frames to highlight the differences.
Command structures and usage are described within the theory presentations these LABs are demonstrations.
