Welcome back, Pokémon Trainers! It's time again for a weekly news update video!
Once again, I've got a Pokémon TCG booster pack to open up! This week will be Furious Fists, with the code card (as always) going out to one lucky viewer. I'll open up the booster near the end of the video, and give you viewers the Question of the Day for you to respond to. Leave your response in a comment down below using the hashtag #QOTD, and you'll be entered into the running to receive the code card (chosen randomly) when I do the drawing this coming Sunday, June 5th.
New Special Stages are currently available until Tuesday, June 7th in Pokémon Shuffle. Carnivine appears in a Try 'Em Items stage, in which you can use any item available in the shop at the cost of zero coins. They're free to try and experience, so you can see which items would best benefit you in other battles. Also available are both Magmortar and Kyogre in standard battles (Kyogre having the chance to drop a Skill Booster item if you defeat it again after capturing it), and Ash-Greninja is available in a timed battle, also with the chance to drop a Skill Booster if you defeat it after already capturing it.
If you missed out on the Mythical Pokémon Mew back in February as the kick-off to the worldwide #Pokemon20 hype, you now have a second chance to get it! The June Pokémon Trainer Club newsletter will have a distribution for Mew, which will be coming out soon. If you aren't currently subscribed to the newsletter, simply go to Pokemon.com, set up a Pokémon Trainer Club account, and opt in to receive the newsletter. If you do so before June 1st, you'll be in time to receive the newsletter and be able to obtain your very own #Pokemon20 Mew!

The prize list for the upcoming 2016 Pokémon World Championships, being held in San Fransisco, Caifornia this August, has been announced. Over $500,000 in cash, scholarships, and travel certificates will be awarded to the top winners throughout the world, with the video game World Champion receiving $10,000, and the TCG World Champion winning $25,000! New information on Pokémon GO has been announced as well, mostly in relation to the Gym aspect of the game. Once your team has claimed ownership of an empty Gym, you can assign a Pokémon to defend it, and then battle against that Pokémon to raise your Gym's Prestige and level. The higher the Gym level, the more defending Pokémon that can be placed there. When you encounter a rival Gym, you can battle all of the defending Pokémon placed there by that team, and through victories, you can lower the Gym's Prestige. If the Prestige bottoms out at zero, the team loses ownership of that Gym, which you can then claim for your own team!
