I flew to Belarus to get a Visa and MasterCard. Since Russia is under sanctions, it's impossible to get a card here.
I flew from Vnukovo Airport to Minsk for 4,000 rubles via Pobeda. The flight is only 1.5 hours. Upon arrival, I exchanged my Russian rubles for Belarusian rubles at the airport. I also bought a SIM card from Life. It's better to buy MTS, though. They have better quality.
I took Yandex Taxi to Minsk; the journey from the airport to my hotel in Minsk is 46 km and 44 minutes.
Bring your MIR card with you—you can use it to pay for purchases in stores, taxis, the metro, and restaurants.
Urgent issuance of a plastic card costs 79 Belarusian rubles, and the card itself costs an additional 300 Belarusian rubles. The card is issued the day after you submit your application. I got the card at BNB (Belarusian People's Bank).
As soon as I received the card, I topped it up with my Sberbank card and paid for another digital Visa card—it cost 180 Belarusian rubles.
All in all, including hotels, tickets, and cards, it cost me about 40,000 rubles. It was my first time in Minsk. I rode the metro, explored the city center, and even photographed a military parade.
It was fantastic. For me, it wasn't just a card issue but also a mini-trip.
