Sri Lanka Police link slain underworld figure to Thajudeen murder case
Sri Lanka Police have revealed that underworld figure Anura Vidanagamage, known as “Kajja,” who was shot dead with his two children in February, had been present near the vehicle of slain rugby star Wasim Thajudeen moments before his 2012 murder.
Police said the link was uncovered during questioning of underworld leader “Backhoe Saman,” recently arrested in Indonesia, and through testimony from Kajja’s widow, who identified him in CCTV footage.
According to investigators, Kajja was seen trailing Thajudeen’s car in another vehicle shortly before the sportsman was killed.
Kajja was gunned down in February in southern Sri Lanka along with his children, in what police say was a contract killing allegedly ordered by “Backhoe Saman.”
