In 1938, Adolf Hitler annexed neighboring territories, and he turned his eyes to the Sudatenland, an area of Czechoslovakia with many ethnic germans.
To avoid war, British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain proposed a conference in Munich to discuss the crisis.
The Munich Conference was attended by representatives from Germany, Britain, France, and Italy, with the goal of finding a peaceful solution to the standoff.
