In this episode of theSITREP, Paul discusses the new electronic health record system – known as the Federal EHR – which will be used at all VA medical facilities as early as 2031. Thirteen new sites launch in 2026, more than doubling the number currently using the Federal EHR. Veterans will benefit from a single health record from military service through the rest of their lives. This means not repeating medications or medical history – every blood test, every x-ray, every injury, and every illness will be in one location. It also means VA will be able to analyze trends in Veteran populations and develop new treatment options to treat Veterans’ unique conditions. It’s a much needed and welcomed improvement that puts Veterans first. For additional information and to see which benefits you or your family may qualify, visit the web links below.
