How To Sync Video and Audio in Premiere Pro CC
If you're recording audio separately from your camera, using an external audio recorder, I'll show you three ways that you can sync audio and video in Premiere Pro CC.
METHOD 1 - Sync Audio Manually
1. Drag your video clip and your separate audio clip onto the timeline.
2. Find the spike that you made with your slate or by clapping
3. Line up the waveforms from both audio files by using the spike as a reference guide.
METHOD 2 - Merge Clips
1. Select the video clip and the separate audio clip from your Project panel.
2. Right click
3. Select Merge Clips
4. Ensure Audio is checked, and ensure 'Remove audio from AV clip' is selected.
5. Hit OK
6. Premiere generates a new video clip appended with '- Merged'
METHOD 3 - 02:48 - Sync on the Timeline
1. Drag your video clip and your separate audio clip onto the timeline.
2. Select them both
3. Right-click
4. Hit Synchronize
