PATCHBAY HALF NORMALLED or NORMALLED MODE Which One Is Best To Use In Your Studio.
In this episode we talk about the half normalled mode in Patchbay configuration and why you should understand and use it in your studio. A Patchbay, being the most misunderstood piece of equipment used in a studio is really not that hard to install and benefit from. A properly installed unit will add a degree of functionality not experienced before. Where things typically get tricky is that the novice, using a patch panel for the first time, thinks they must utilize patch cables everywhere. Not so! A patchbay allows you to connect your most important pieces in a semi permanent way by using the Half normalled mode. In this mode you can connect a preamp to a particular channel input on your interface and through the top panel jacks access a signal to drive a headphone amp.
