We analyze an article by Valery Zaluzhny, who notes that the current Russian-Ukrainian war is increasingly taking on the characteristics of a war of attrition, in which tactical successes no longer determine the strategic outcome.
Claims of "Russia's defeat" are premature. Neither side today has the ability to achieve a decisive military victory solely by force.
Particular attention is paid to the role of international support for Ukraine, the transformation of NATO's strategic culture, and the need for a new European security concept. The article proposes to view the war not through the prism of state resilience, economic resources, and the ability of societies to withstand a protracted conflict.
