This is why there are no boats to Positano in the winter.
Positano has no protected harbour, so when the waves get big, the boats cannot dock. This can also be why a boat trip can suddenly be cancelled in the summer; if the sea gets choppy it can be dangerous to dock here. Boat companies, beach clubs and many hotels and shops are closed off season and will reopen again from Easter.
