In today's video, I teach you how to install the new Google Tag within the updated Wix dashboard. This update raised questions, and Eugênia brought up an important question: where do I insert the Google Ads tag now that there are only the Google and Google Tag Manager tabs?
To clarify, I'll start by showing you the path within Wix: go to the dashboard, go to Settings - Marketing Integrations, and there you'll see the available options, including the new Google Tag. If your account is older and already has a Google Ads tag, you'll need to delete it to use the new feature.
Before setting up, it's essential to have the Tag ID, which can be obtained from Google Ads or GA4. If you have multiple tags, you need to define which one will be the main one for the integration. I'll explain that there are two ways to set up: use the GA4 tag or the Google Ads tag. If you choose GA4, all conversions will need to be created in it and imported to Google Ads. If you choose Google Ads, you can create conversions directly in it and integrate them in Tag Manager.
I'll show you how to access the tags within Google Ads, by going to Data Center - Google Tag - Manage, where the IDs and destinations of the tags appear. I also teach you how to configure data flows within GA4, checking if the tags are connected correctly and combining the necessary tags.
In Wix, after entering the Google Tag ID and saving, you need to configure the Consent Mode, which defines how visitor data will be sent to Google.
Finally, I explain how to create conversions within Google Ads and Tag Manager, showing that, when choosing Google Ads, you can create conversions directly in it, while in GA4, the events need to be configured and imported.
This is a more technical tutorial, but essential for anyone who wants to correctly configure tags in Wix. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments and I'll answer them or make a video explaining it better. Thanks for watching and see you next time!
