Drone footage from my Mavic Air 2 typically comes out of the camera a bit flat. Here are some drone color grading tips in Premiere Pro.
Tip #1: White Balance
White balance your footage with the color picker in Lumetri color (White balance selector in Basic Correction)
Try to something in the footage that best represents white (like clouds in the tutorial above)
Tip # 2: RGB Curves
I usually use auto correct first to see what the software thinks is wrong with the footage
The right side of the Curves are the Whites and highlights
The left side of the Curves graph are the Blacks and Shadows
Slight adjustments are usually the best
Tip# 3: Hue Saturation Curves
Sometimes I may color grade the entire footage, but most of the time, I want to bring up a specific color in water, sky, sand, dirt, trees, etc. Hue Saturation Curves is the tool for making micro adjustments.
Use the color picker in Hue v Sat to make a specific color moe vivid
The color picker will create 3 dots on the graph (the middle dot represents the color picker color (hold down shift to keep the color constant while dragging up or down)
Use the Luma v. Sat graph to bring up the less saturated areas of the footage
Use your mouse to create two dots (the right dot should be dragged up slightly and positioned towards the right of the graph depending on your taste or intention)
