In this video, I present three classic and fundamental ways to perform mathematical proofs: direct proof, proof by contrapositive, and proof by contradiction.
The idea is not just to apply calculations, but to understand the logic behind each method and know when to use each one. We start with the direct proof, showing that the square of an odd number is also odd. Then, we use the contrapositive to prove an equivalent statement without redoing the entire calculation. Finally, we explore proof by contradiction, assuming an impossible hypothesis to arrive at a logical contradiction.
This type of content is essential for those studying academic mathematics, essay exams, teaching degrees, bachelor's degrees, or competitive exams that require logical reasoning and mathematical argumentation.
If you want to truly understand proofs—and not just memorize steps—this video is for you.
