How to fix the black screen problem of VMware Fusion on OS X Catalina 10.15.
Add VMware Fusion to the list
1. Open System Preferences - Security & Privacy - Privacy.
2. Select Accessibility in the list on the left side, click "+" and select "VMware Fusion. app" then Allow by check the checkbox.
3. Launch Fusion, you may need to create a new VM to display the prompt. "VMware Fusion" would like to record this computer's screen.
Then click Open System Preferences, and it will now appear on the list.
Another option is to try to enable Full Disk Access for Fusion.
1. Open System Preferences - Security & Privacy - Privacy.
2. Select Full Disk Access in the list on the left side, click "+" select "VMware Fusion. app" in Applications to add Fusion into the list.
After upgrading to OS X Catalina, VMWare Fusion 11.1.1 stopped working, and it would only display a black screen.
