In case you forgot why you hated Achilles, book 9 of Homer's Iliad reminds you just how childish this man is being. Despite Agamemnon willingly offering a bajillion gifts to encourage him to return to battle (yes, that is how many gifts he offers, a bajillion), Achilles is still butthurt about the argument they had, and so declines. Even though Odysseus and Big Ajax literally show up at his tent to plead with Achilles, this man would rather sit alone playing the lyre to the measly audience that is Patroclus than help his mates ... I just ... I can't.
