Emma Thompson, the actress who played Trelawney, had good eyesight, so she couldn't see anything with her real glasses. And the fake glasses with glass instead of lenses simply didn't enlarge her eyes—the desired effect simply wasn't achieved! That's when the director decided to sacrifice the actress's comfort for the sake of beautiful shots. As a result, Emma turned into a blind mole. In one take, the actress even tripped and almost fell—she simply couldn't see anything around her. The director liked the scene so much that he kept it.
