VOYAGER 1 Distance from Earth
Voyager 1 is currently the farthest human-made object from the Sun, sitting approximately 156 astronomical units (AU) away, or about 23.4 billion kilometers (14.6 billion miles). This impressive distance places Voyager 1 in interstellar space, where it has been since it crossed the boundary of the solar system, known as the heliopause, in 2012. As it travels deeper into interstellar space, Voyager 1 continues to send back data, although it takes over 21 hours for its signals to reach Earth due to the vast distance.
