T-40 Tractor Hydraulic Steering Conversion Kit for Metering Pump
There are several ways to convert a T-40 tractor's steering system to a hydraulic positive-displacement system (metering pump). In this video, we examine two main methods for converting from a power steering system to a hydraulic steering system:
1) installing a hydraulic wheel steering cylinder
2) modifying the existing power steering system.
The conversion kit with installation of a wheel steering cylinder includes:
1) 100 cm3 metering pump (MTZ, YUMZ, T-40) - 1 pc
2) NSh-32-10 dual gear pump (left-hand rotation) - 1 pc
3) G1/2"-S24 (BSP1/2"-M20x1.5) fitting for the metering pump - 4 pcs
4) Shaft in the metering pump for connecting the steering shaft (HSS) - 1 pc
5) Hydraulic cylinder C50x250 with pins
6) NSh-10 flange - 2 pcs
7) NSh-32 flange - 2 pcs
8) NSh32-S24 adapter fitting (M30x1.5-M20x1.5) - 2 pcs
9) Adapter fitting НШ10-S24 (М20х1.5-М20х1.5) - 2 pcs
10) High-pressure hose (L=1.8 m, S=24) with 90° fitting
The conversion kit for the version with the original power steering includes:
1) 100 cm3 metering pump (MTZ, YUMZ, T-40) - 1 pc
2) NШ-32-10 dual gear pump (left-hand rotation) - 1 pc
3. G1/2"-S24 (BSP1/2"-М20х1.5) metering pump nipple - 4 pcs
4. Shaft in the metering pump for connecting the steering shaft (PS)
5. Hydraulic cylinder repair kit CS-75 - 2 pcs
6. NШ-10 flange - 2 pcs
7. Flange NSh-32 - 2 pcs
8. NSh-32-S24 Adapter Fittings (M30x1.5-M20x1.5) - 2 pcs
9. NSh-10-S24 Adapter Fittings (M20x1.5-M20x1.5) - 2 pcs
10. High-Duty Hydraulic Hose (L=1.8m, S=24) with 90° Elbow Fitting - 2 pcs
Please note that the kits do not include mounting brackets, as the steering hydraulic cylinder mount and metering pump mount are custom-made. Unfortunately, factory-produced, one-piece standard steering rods, hydraulic cylinder mounting brackets, and metering pump mounts are not yet available. They are manufactured independently, depending on whether the T-40 tractor's front axle is driven or not.
