Description of the lyrics:
I raised a big flock of swans and gave all them away, except Marketta I kept home. She leaned on the window, spinned her wheel and sang songs all day. She was a proud woman and strict with many things. She would not ride a mare after a stallion had had its way. Not a cow after an ox with the same. She would not eat the eggs of a chicken that was stomped and screamed by a cock.
Marketta laid alone in her bed, behind nine locks, for the longest of time. One day a beautiful one arrived at the house, with hair shining bright. On that day the bone locks broke away and under fur and blankets they stayed.
So much fish was eaten after that. No belts or skirts on the way. Marketta wrapped herself in furs and stayed in sauna all day.
Then one day Marketta leaves to pick up wood chips. She finds a child among the chips and brings it home. When she arrives an old man over the stove wonders what sorcery has happened, when a child is in such a way found.
