My Hyper key Has Sublayers… Let me Show you Why
Tired of boring keyboard shortcuts? In this video, I’ll show you how I use Karabiner-Elements to build sublayers that let a single key, my Hyper key, control everything. With sublayers like Hyper+A for apps, Hyper+T for tmux sessions, Hyper+O for OBS scenes, and more, I’ve created a supercharged modal system for my entire workflow.
This isn’t your average key remapping. I walk you through how I configure these sublayers in TypeScript, how I auto-compile them to JSON, how I trigger some of them using BetterTouchTool, and how this replaces dozens of shortcuts.
