Did you know that you can use WordPress from your computer's desktop? Let me show you one of the easiest ways to install WordPress locally.

In today's Video:
Installing WordPress isn't all that difficult of a process. Especially if you use something like Bitnami. Using Bitnami's WordPress stack installer, you can get everything you need to run WordPress all in one package. And I can attest to how much easier this is than trying to set up XAMPP when installing WordPress locally.
In total, it took around 15 minutes to download WordPress, install it, and add a couple of plugins I want to use when creating content for clients.
I do want to point out that running WordPress from your own computer is going to be a bit slower than if you were to use it on a web server. This is because web servers are optimized specifically for running websites like WordPress. Which often means far more memory, wicked fast SSD hard drives, and far more CPU power than you might have.
Still, having a local install of WordPress is convenient for a variety of reasons. Not only does it give you a platform for writing content for clients in Textbroker or in private, but you can practice setting up your own website or have a testing environment.
And in today's world, getting to know how WordPress works and being comfortable with the system is something you'd want to add to a freelance writer's resume. That's because around one-third of the websites on the Internet are powered by WordPress.
