If you're buying a home, how much does a buyer's agent cost?
It’s standard practice in real estate for the seller to cover the commission for both the seller’s agent and buyer’s agent. A portion of the sale price is paid to the listing agent and the buyer's agent, and that can range from 3-9% depending on where you are.
If you're buying a home, you usually don’t have to pay a buyer's agent to represent you. BUT in certain circumstances, like For Sale By Owner, you can still have representation with a Buyer Broker Commission Agreement and pay the agent directly.
