I Used My Old Phone as Homelab Server

Earlier this year I bought a second domain for my website… and completely forgot about it. When I realized it was about to expire, I decided to justify that purchase by turning an old Android phone into a public homelab server. 📱🌐 I installed *Termux**, set up SSH, fixed unstable hotspot IPs by writing a tiny **mDNS responder in Python**, and exposed it safely to the internet using **Cloudflare* Tunnels (after patching `cloudflared` because IPv6 DNS broke everything). I spun up *Debian* with proot, deployed *Forgejo* for my own Git server, added *cgit* for a zero-fluff frontend, served a minimal dashboard with **Lighttpd**, automated backups using **rclone**, and wired everything together with boot scripts and tmux so it resurrects itself after every restart. Completely unnecessary, mildly impractical - but I learned more about networking and self-hosting than any tutorial could’ve taught me. 🚀
