Kernkonzept now offers the first ever open-source hypervisor, running on Arm Cortex-R52 processors. At embedded world fair 2023 in Nuremberg, we demonstrated this with an autonomous driving stack.
Hardware-based virtualization allows to consolidate multiple systems on a single platform and meet the security and safety requirements of different use-cases in the automotive sector. System designers can choose between our new L4Re Micro Hypervisor for MPU based systems or the L4Re Hypervisor for HPC based systems.
The L4Re Micro Hypervisor is now the reference hypervisor on NXP’s S32Z and S32E real-time processors. This enables safe integration of vehicle-wide functions in software-defined vehicles and creates a new class of processors – for domain and zonal control, functional safety, electrification, and smart actuation.
Our L4Re Micro Hypervisor makes the integration of safe, real-time applications ever easier. Unlocking the potential of those new types of processors is a big step towards the future of the software-defined vehicle.
