First VR Flight on SU5 | MSFS 2024 | ENZV to ENCN | How Good Is It?
This is my first flight in VR on MSFS 2024 after the SU5 update, flying from Stavanger ENZV to Kjefik ENCN. The goal is simple: see how the simulator performs in VR and whether SU5 finally delivers the smooth, usable experience many of us have been waiting for.
Right from the start, the difference is noticeable. Frame pacing, head tracking and overall fluidity feel significantly improved compared to previous versions. This flight is a straightforward IFR hop along the Norwegian coast, which makes it a good test case without unnecessary complexity.
The route itself offers great scenery with coastline, terrain and changing light conditions, all of which are ideal for evaluating VR clarity and stability. The focus is not on procedures or difficulty, but on how the simulator behaves in a real flying session.
This is not a benchmark or a technical breakdown. It is a practical first impression from the cockpit. How smooth does it feel, how immersive is it, and most importantly, is it finally usable for regular flying?
